It seems that pingbacks to mzungus are only schon when the trackback URI is also entered in WordPress. This is a Test Post with a Pingback to this post, a Ping- and Trackback here, and just a Trackback there (CINA Post). Since I use a trackback validation Plugin, the sole Trackback shouldn’t come through.

Its damn cold over here. Some -10° C today in southern germany. This are the times I prefer a cup of HOT chai instead of frozen beer, not even a good one*! I just recently received some packs of original Ketepa Tee from Nairobi. It’s great to have friends and family over there that supply me with some basics, since we have no in Ujerumani. (Ati, there is nothing like http://uchumi.co.ke or even dot com?) Or can you imagine to buy a pack of Jogoo maizemeal at 23 USD?** Anyway, this shop is probably better than nothing.

Whiteafrican brought up this link to some at first sight funny flags. The flags are a result of a creative challenge campaign by an Portuguese news magazine. Entitled “Meet the World” some countries flags are shown, using the flags colors to sensitize on various social and political issues. (click on image to enlarge)

the old BEDFORD TJ

Wow, JKE just sent me this link to a page with lots of pictures of african vehicles. It’s really funny since I made my drivers licence on such an old BEDFORD TJ. I booked five lessons and took only three of them, since the truck had to undergo some jua-kali treatment the other times. Driving was real fun as well. The steering wheel had a quarter turn of play so it was a real challenge to keep the lane on Thika Rd. Before heading of for the first ride, I had a small dispute with the instructor whether the right rear-view mirror was to be set up for me or for the instructor. The instructor said he needed the mirror, but can you imagine driving a truck without!? . Anyway, I finally convinced him.

Make sure that your host can make outgoing HTTP requests to akismet.com.

Ok Mat, very helpful. I got to find that out somehow allthough I don’t know how.

No replies, just nothing. Sorry to say that this askimet thing won’t work for me. I’ve registered two WP.com blogs and both keys are invalid. There are no replies in the forum neither the german one nor on WP.org. I’ve updatet to plugin v.1.14. Nothing. I registered my third blog here: http://iwannagetanapikeythatswhyisignablog.wordpress.com/. Well this get’s fun. What about a fourth… And I won’t change my hoster just because this thing’s not working.

Btw. do you get any commentspam? Well I do not. So why spent my time on this…

Askimet Key is invalid

It seems there are still some problems arround with the API-Key needed to activate Askimet. I am not able to use the Api Key I get on this blog for my plugin at http://m.zung.us. The key is rejectet as “invalid”. I’ve also signed up a second account (including a blog) but that didn’t help either…

Same problem here in the forum…

I’ve started a thread in the german Forum as well.

Hey out there, I just wanted to thank all those folks developing WordPress, you are doing a great job. I really enjoy WP. The last days I also found Lorelle’s Blog on WordPress really usefull. In case you are playing arround with your own installation its a real must to read!
